My Speech About NZ!

Hi! I am Mai. I would like to introduce the compare summer between NZ and Japan.

Summer in Japan is about from June to August. However, summer in New Zealand is from December to February because it is located in the southern hemisphere. The average temperature is about 20~30 degree. It is affected a little air pollution, so the sun is very strong. In addition, the sun stays long.

The summer of NZ is a very good for playing activities in the sea! We can not only swim there but also play surfing and take a boat. Of course, we can go hike because there are many mountains in NZ.

The main event in summer is Christmas! It is very important event in NZ. I think Japanese people and NZ people have different images of Christmas. Of course, Christmas in Japan is winter. However, Santa Clause comes in summer! Many people celebrate it in the beach. They enjoy Christmas to sing a Christmas Carol and have a barbecue.

The Seasons in New Zealand

I would like to tell you about the comparisons of seasons between Japan and New Zealand. New Zealand is located in the southern hemisphere. it is warm through a year. In addition, it rains a lot.

Japan has seasons. In the same, New Zealand also has them too. However, it has reversed seasons. The weather tends to change in a day, so it is said that there are seasons in a day. Then, I will introduce to you the summer in New Zealand.

Winter Festival of Lights★

I would like to tell you about the content of Winter Festival of Lights. It is the Canada’s foremost and famous illumination festival. During this festival, Niagara Falls is illuminated with many beautiful colors and many spectacular fireworks in the sky. We can watch fastastic Niagara Falls which is frozen.

In addition, there are many type illuminations around Niagara Falls. In the Niagara Parks, we can see many displays. There are over 125 animated lighting displays and 3 million sparkling tree. Thus, The Walt Disney company cooperates with this festival, so there are many illuminated display of Disney!!! Around the park, you can see many beautiful illuminations on the tree and along the road. Some of them, there are animal illuminations. They are using 220,000 LDS tree lights.

Halloween★！

October 31 is Halloween!!! This festival is popular all over the world. I will tell you Halloween festival.

At first, why is called Halloween? November 1 is “All Saints' Day (Hallowmas)”. So, October 31 is the eve of that day＝All Hallow Eve. Then it is called Halloween. Originally, this festival is a religion behavior of Celtic about 2,000 years ago. People believed that people who died come to life in this day. In Japanese, this day is like “Obon”.

Speaking of Halloween, Dressing up, Trick or Treat, Pumpkin!!! First is dressing up. Ancient people believed that dead people come back to life. So they get children to dress up and intend to drive off them. Second is “Trick or Treat”. People prepared treat as an offering to calm down ghosts. However, children wanted to get treat. So they began to say this word as a trick. Last is pumpkin. People make Jack-o-Lantern. It is the lantern of pumpkin. This is also for driving off ghosts.

Now, Halloween party held all over the world. Children and adults enjoy this festival. In Japan, this is not custom, but it is celebrated in many theme parks.

My Favorite Movies★

Today, I would like to introduce my recommended movies to you. I do not often watch movies in the movie theater, but I watch them on DVDs and WOWOW. Some of these, I introduce my impression movies.

　　　At first, “National Treasure”. It is action movie. The hero: Ben searches the treasure of legend. This treasure is hidden by organization of Freemason. It was because that when the United of America founded, the UK would steal. He and his companied search the treasure, and the key of the place which the treasure is hidden found the declaration of independence. However, it was happened a split of companies. They fight finding treasure. Ben stole the declaration of independence ahead and found the place of treasure. However, he did not find the treasure, but found the next key of treasure place. One after another, he only found the key. Can he find the Nation Treasure? There are many action scenes in this movie. In addition, we can learn the history of America. Many famous places appeared. It is very interesting and exciting!!! This movies hero is Nicolas Cage. He is not young but very cool!!! His action scenes are very good!!! You should watch this movie★ Actually, there is the continuation of movie!! However, I have not watched it. I want to watch it!!!

Next, I want to introduce WANTED. This movie is now showing in movie theaters. This is also action movie. The main character: Wesley is ordinary worker in company. However, he is suddenly told that he is an heir of a group of assassin by Fox who is a member of that group. He could not make up his mind, but decided to be an assassin. There are many famous actors and actress such as James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman, Angelina Jolie. This story is advancing by this slogan: Kill one, save a thousand…. You should watch it!!

★Wonderful Summer Vacation★

I thought the college student’s summer vacation was very long. However, I think it was very short! The reason is that this summer vacation was very busy, but very interesting for me. I will tell you memories in order.

The end of July, I went to club at first time. This event was Lock Dance event. I belong to NUFS’s dance club now. I dance Lock Dance. This event gave me many skills, and I enjoyed very much.

In my birth day July 27, I went to see fireworks in Toyota. The fireworks were very big, bright and beautiful. I was very surprised though I went to see it every year.

The last of July, I went to university because I took classes of Airline. I want to get a job which is related Airline, so this classes were very good chance to me. For three days, I learned many airport, jobs, and manners. I thought I came closer to these jobs a little.

Almost of summer vacation, I kept going to dancing because I had a dance event in end of August. I went to school twice a week in summer vacation. There were 9 people in my team, so it was very hard to mach dancing. However, we could enjoy dancing.

In addition, I worked hard, but I went shopping in Nagoya many times in this summer vacation. My pay was vanished soon!!!

From August 27 to 29, I went to Tokyo Disneyland with my friend. I love Disney very much!!! We ride many attractions and bought many souvenirs. I enjoyed so much!!! The best memory for me was taking pictures with many Disney characters. Especially, taking photo with Mickey Mouse was the most impressed.

From the last of August to September, I went to Tokyo because I watched 24 HOURS TELEVISION in Nihonbudokan with my friends. In addition, my friend who lives in Tokyo guided us around there, and we enjoyed shopping.

In September, I went to Mie prefecture because of the PUT camp. there were many same classmates and friend I knew, so I enjoyed very much. In Ise, we went to Ise shrine and ate Iseudon. At Nemu-no-sato, we had a wonderful time. Classes with PUT’s teacher were very interesting. In addition, there were many delicious foods, so I got fat through this camp!!! However, I was depressed because I cannot speak English fluently. I should use English everyday.

I enjoyed this summer vacation. Therefore this semester, I will study English very hard. In addition, I will do my best everything!!!

＊Jelato＊

When I went back to the Akaike station from the school yesterday, I found a stylish Italian jelato shop!!! The shop's name is "BONO". The kind of jelatos are not too many,but they changes every seasons. I tried to eat a caramel almond. It was very good!!! If you have a chance to go to the Akaike station, you should try!!!

Diet＊

Diet is the foods we eat and drink. Of course, good diets give our health good effects. To the contrary, some diets give us bad effects. For example, the fast food. The fast food is not expensive and easy to buy. However, it is included too much calories. There is a shocking article about the fast food. Do you know the movie "Super Size me"? This is a documentary movie. Morgan Spurlock, this movie's director continued to eat McDonalds' food for every meal for a month. This is the details about movie. He recorded the state of his health physically and mentally. I think you can know the afraid of the fast food and be careful your health balance!!
